Only the Caroline Farmers Market has a Locavore Lunch! On select Saturdays, the Fire Hall Cafe offers a special dish using ingredients from our farmers. Past delicacies include sandwiches with artisanal cheese on homemade bread with local pesto, leek and potato soup, and even corn ice cream! Tastey stuff!
Gad!Zukes! Zucchini Festival! Start growing your zucchinis! The Zucchini Festival will be held in August, so plenty of time to get ready for the contests. Prizes will be given for the biggest, smallest, and most unusual home-grown zucchinis that you bring to the farmers market (more categories to be added). Enter contests for the most delicious zucchini bread or the very best zucchini dishes, to be served at our lunchtime zucchini buffet. Grow your zucchinis! Cook 'em up or bake 'em! Bring 'em down for the fun. AND, if you wish to share your best zucchini recipe for a community cookbook, drop off your recipe at the Old Fire Hall Cafe, or mail it to the BCC, PO Box 135, Brooktondale NY 14817.
